Multiple styles, Years of Experience

Our Brewers

Self-Built Winnipeggers
We do not do anything the easy way, which to us, as lifelong Winnipeggers, defines our city and the spirit of those who choose it as their home.

We are self-funded, self-built, and self-reliant. We built this brick and mortar brewery with our own hands and have maintained it as a family-run endeavour with strong ties to our neighbourhood, business community, and city.

Our Mission
We do not put profit first, and instead measure our success by the impact we have on our community. We have purposefully stayed small, which has come with extra challenges, but has allowed us to maintain our values and achieve our mission to be a different kind of company, putting our staff, our product, our morals, and business ethics before profits and growth.

We encourage and empower our staff, no matter what their role, to learn and grow within our company. We want them to experience every facet of the brewing industry, from the actual brewing to improving their flavour palates and how they are able to speak about beer with our customers.

Let us help you find your next favourite beer.

We exist to add to what should always be here:
drinkable, yet curious beers, to ease the drama around us. Locally-made craft beer, inspired by mid-century pulp paperback novels.

Brat Cat Mead focuses on 5% ABV, light, dry, carbonated mead. We use only locally sourced MB honey. Brat Cat Mead is a locally produced naturally gluten friendly product!

BRAZENLY BOLD BEER
BUILT UPON A HONEST VISION
Brazenly brewing all beer styles, and brewing them well.

After 5 years of visiting breweries and talking to owners and master brewers, Kristján Kristjánsson draughted his vision to build a 10 Hectoliter brewery and deliver expertly brewed artisan crafted beer in the emerging beer scene in Winnipeg and across Manitoba.

Makers of Beer Flavoured Beer! Fine Ales for even finer ladies and distinguished gentlemen. We aim to be the pinnacle purveyors of perniciously perfect pints. Quality before quantity. Fresh at the source. Small batch care in every beer. The thinker’s drink of choice……..

Get the idea?

Dastardly Villain Brewing Company is aiming for world domination through beer! That goal will only be achieved through making quality craft ales. And we’ll also be celebrating the beloved villains along the way.

Turning out small-batch, wickedly independent, Manitoban craft beer since 2018 in the heart of Downtown Winnipeg. Small by design and focused on quality and creativity. We brew it to 11 or don’t brew it at all.

In the heart of the Great Canadian prairies, visit Farmery Estate Brewery and our family farm where hops and barley that go into our beer are grown.

Established in 1930 by B.W. Hoeschen, Fort Garry Brewing Company is Manitoba’s oldest microbrewery and has become a bastion of brewing excellence. We’re pioneers of craft brewing in Manitoba, and we make beer the same way we’ve been making it for 90 years. Sure, the copper kettles are gone, and the steam heat is now electric, but from our humble beginnings in a small Market Street warehouse to our current state-of-the-art facility, we’ve never strayed from our microbrewery tradition.

Me digwa’ is a welcome greeting in the African Isoko language. Similarly, the name HEYRU (pronounced ay-roo) is rooted in an Isoko word meaning ‘natural beauty.’ This name is our brand because most of our food, health, and cosmetic products (ethically-sourced in Nigeria and packaged in Canada) are earth-friendly, 100% natural, and contain only the highest-quality ingredients.

Promoting a healthy lifestyle that’s accessible is important to us while doing it sustainably and responsibly. Our brand has a strong African identity, and we are proud that we can bring its valuable ingredients to the local communities. We have strong ties to the local farmers, growers and cultivators in Nigeria and Kenya.

Kilter has perhaps had the most significant influence on how local consumers
view craft beer, and how other breweries have adapted their business models for this new modern landscape.

Located in the heart of St. Boniface, we believe it is our duty as a local
business to develop strong relationships with our neighbours. It’s important to
offer an experience that feels both nostalgic and new at the same time.
Our lineup of vintage beers ensures that people who enjoy the “classics” can feel welcome in our space. In contrast to that, we offer a seemingly never-ending variety of new and inventive beers.

Lake of the Woods Brewing Company’s downtown Winnipeg location is on the ground floor at Hargrave St. Market in True North Square, a hop-skip-and-a-jump from the Canada Life Center Arena and the Winnipeg Convention Centre. The taproom main entrance and patio is located at 221 Carlton Street. Grab some merch, enjoy a pint or take-home some beer (brewed right upstairs in our HSM brewery).

With a dream to have an impact, Little Brown Jug builds a home in Winnipeg’s historic Exchange District in 2016. An overlooked hundred year-old building is given new life and a company (of believers) is assembled.
From our open-concept brewery, LBJ starts out brewing only one beer, 1919 Belgian Pale Ale. We brew it over and over and over again to create a beer that is good by any standard. We take the same intention and precision and apply it to craft every new beer we add. Since we focus on simple styles with less to hide behind, we continually hone our techniques to make good, reliable beer. Our process means beer done better. We don’t need to change the whole world, it is about the impact we make on one person. Then the next person and the next. It’s not something you normally hear from people who make beer, but we’re not afraid to say we give a damn.

We are currently operating as a contract brewery out of Torque Brewing in Winnipeg, MB with aspirations to one day (soon!) open up our own brewing space, taproom, and restaurant!

For now we are working on developing delicious, (mostly) hop-forward recipes, slinging samples at trade shows and events, and getting the word out about Namesake via social media and of course, merch sales.

We started Nonsuch to give back to our home, help grow our culture, and make Manitoba proud. Our award-winning craft beers are designed to be at the center of your special moments. Our brewery, taproom, and kitchen are proudly anchored in the heart of Winnipeg.

THE HEART OF A CITY IS ITS PEOPLE.

One Great City Brewing Co. is a celebration of the people, the land, and the life that makes Winnipeg a place of which to be proud. Our beer is both adventurous and accessible. Some beers will be familiar to all beer drinkers while others will be pleasant surprises. However, everyone will appreciate the quality of ingredients and the freshness of OGC’s beer that really sets us apart from the standard lager.

An award winning distillery creating elegant craft spirits in the heart of Canada.

The First Vineyard in Manitoba’s History. Growing Wine Grapes in the scenic Pembina Valley in Southern Manitoba and handcrafting the wines in Winnipeg. Also making wines from prairie fruits, sangria, mead, cider and wine coolers.

Founder Andrew Sookram decided to pursue his passion and open his own brewery after years of homebrewing – and winning multiple awards – fulfilling a dream of creating a socially-conscious, family owned business, and most importantly: brewing beer everyone will love.

The right fit for every occasion that becomes a part of your style and personality. Whether you’re seeking something familiar and comforting or versatile and bold, Torque Brewing enhances each moment and fine- tunes the experience.

Our mission at TCB is to offer a beer for everyone, whether you like a bold IPA or enjoy a simple, clean lager. All TCB beers are developed, brewed, and packaged in-house with a “quality-first” approach.

To us, the love of beer comes from the social part of it. Hanging out with friends on a night out, making a celebratory toast, or even the simple pleasure of cracking open a cold can on a hot day.

There is a story to share in every moment.
